Ardingly College is located near Haywards Heath, Sussex, a pleasant rural town 25kms from Brighton, 50 kms from London and 18kms from Gatwick Airport. The College with its mixture of old-world charm and modern teaching facilities is set in 230 acres of grounds and woodlands.

Tuition

15 hours per week (mornings or afternoons) in groups of maximum 15. Lessons are compulsory.

Facilities 8 classrooms, 230 acres of grounds. Swimming pool, 18 tennis courts, gymnasium, extensive playing fields. School shop for snacks, drinks, stationery etc.

 

Distance from airports

Ardingly is approximately 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport and 1.5 hours from Heathrow Airport.

Activities

3 sessions per week (including swimming, tennis, arts & crafts, football, barbecues, discos). Activity sessions are compulsory.

 

Excursions

Every week 1 full day excursion (except for final week of stay) and 2 half day excursions (for example: London, Brighton, Eastbourne). Excursions are compulsory.

 

Accommodation - RESIDENCE

Single or twin rooms - equipped with bed, adequate lighting and adequate wardrobe and drawer space, desk and chair. Students must keep their rooms tidy and make their own beds.

Meals

All meals (self-service) are taken in the school dining room except on excursion days when packed lunches are provided.

Breakfast: Cereals, yoghurts, fruit juice, tea, coffee or milk and toast. Two or three times a week there is a full English cooked breakfast.

Lunch: Three course meal. The main course includes a vegetarian option and includes soup, salad and dessert. Bread is available. Hot and cold drinks are available. During the full day excursion on Saturday, students have a packed lunch.

Dinner: Three course meal. The meal consists of soup, main course salad and dessert. A vegetarian main course alternative is offered daily. Bread is available. Hot and cold drinks are available.

Special dietary requirements must be notified at the time of booking.

Laundry

Bedlinen is changed regularly. Personal washing – done on a weekly basis by the College. All clothing must be clearly marked with the students's name. Students should bring three towels for their personal use.

 

Showers / baths

Shared bathroom facilities.

 

Outings from campus

Students are never permitted to leave the campus unless they are on an organised excursion or with their Group Leader or other member of staff. Relatives or friends wishing to visit must contact the Course Director in advance.
