Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most important historic cities in Britain, famous for its stunning Georgian architecture, Roman Baths, university and glorious valley setting. The city offers a range or attractions, just 90 minutes from London.

Description

A large, modern university residence located in the centre of Bath, overlooking the River Avon. Tuition will take place at our junior school in the centre of Bath 10 minutes walk away. Evening meals will be provided locally within a short distance from Carpenter House.

Levels

All levels except beginners

 

Tuition

15 hours per week (mornings or afternoons on alternate weeks) in groups of maximum 15. Lessons are compulsory.

Facilities Hall of residence with laundry facilities on site.
Distance / Transport

National Express coach from Heathrow Airport takes 2.5 hours. The train from Heathrow takes 90 minutes changing at Reading Station. The train from Gatwick Airport takes 3 hours changing at Reading Station.

Activities

3 sessions per week (including swimming, tennis, boating, football, photography). Activities sessions are compulsory.

 

Excursions

Every week 1 full day excursion, except for final week of stay (for example: Oxford, Stonehenge, London) and 2 half day excursions. Participation in excursions is compulsory.

Accommodation - RESIDENCE

Accommodation is arranged in self-contained apartments. There are five or six single study bedrooms in each apartment with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Meals

Breakfast: Continental breakfast served in the apartment. Self-service

Lunch: Packed lunch provided by the school. Hot lunch is available at a supplement.

Dinner: Three course evening meal at YMCA or a local restaurant.

Special dietary requirements must be notified at the time of booking.

Laundry

Washing machines and dryers are provided for the use of the students for a nominal charge. Students will be offered the use of an iron if required. Bed linen is provided and changed regularly. Students should bring their own towels.

Showers / baths

Shared bathroom facilities. Showers, baths and toilets are available on all floors, in units of 6 or 7 bedrooms.

 

Outings from residence

Students are never permitted to leave the residence after dinner unless they are on an organised excursion or with their Group Leader or other member of staff. Relatives or friends wishing to visit must contact the Course Director in advance.
