Classes are held at Newland Park, part of Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, an impressive modern campus set in 180 acres of gardens and woodlands just outside the picturesque village of Chalfont St. Giles, a small town only 40 kms from London. Heathrow and Luton airports are less than 25kms away.

Tuition

12-15 hours per week (mornings or afternoons) in groups of maximum 15. Lessons are compulsory.

Facilities 20 classrooms, 180 acres of gardens and woodlands, open air heated swimming pool, 3 tennis courts, gymnasium, extensive playing fields. Mini-market for snacks, drinks, stationery etc.
Distance from airports

The transfer from Heathrow Airport to Newland Park will take approximately 45 minutes.

 

Activities

3 sessions per week (including swimming, tennis, football, crafts). Evening activities include discos, themed parties, movie nights, campfire songs and barbecues. Activity sessions are compulsory.

 

Excursions

1 full day per week (except for final week of stay) and 2 half days per week (for example London, Watford, Oxford, Windsor).

Participation in excursions is compulsory.

Accommodation

Single rooms only – equipped with bed, adequate lighting and adequate wardrobe and drawer space, desk and chair. Students must keep their rooms tidy and make their own beds.

Meals

All meals (self-service) are taken at Newland Park except on excursion days when packed lunches are provided.

Breakfast: A choice of Continental or English breakfast. Continental includes a croissant, two pieces of toast, butter and preserve, one portion of cereal or yoghurt or fruit. English breakfast includes two sausages or two rashers of bacon, one egg, baked beans or tomatoes, two pieces of toast, one portion of cereal, two portions of butter, one portion of jam. Coffee and tea are available.

Lunch: Two course meal (main course with vegetables, potatoes, rice or pasta & salad plus choice of fruit or yoghurt).

Dinner: Three course meal – starter, main course, side salad and dessert.

Bread and water are available with all meals.

Special dietary requirements must be notified at the time of booking.

Laundry

Bedlinen is changed regularly. Personal washing – students can use coin-operated washing machines and dryers. Students should bring three towels for their personal use.

Showers / baths

Shared bathroom facilities. Each study bedroom has its own wash handbasin.

 

Outings from campus

Students are never permitted to leave the campus unless they are on an organised excursion or with their Group Leader or other member of staff. Relatives or friends wishing to visit must contact the Course Director in advance.

 

Personal belongings

Students must accept responsibility for their own possessions. International House accepts no liability for the loss of students' own possessions unless these have been handed in for safekeeping.
